Day 11 – At Cape Atlantic Community College for #PraytheCampus.

All through May we are praying on campuses. Last week we stopped at Penn State a large State university in State College, PA. I spoke of a book by Page Smith entitled Killing the Spirit, about how large research universities take on bloated freshmen classes as a revenue stream. That hurts students when they get weeded out by a huge institution. Smith recommends freshmen enroll in community colleges for smaller classrooms and more contact with professors.

During this prayer time I thought of how God spoke to Moses and Joshua and told them to take their shoes off, to go barefoot. When they did that, they became vulnerable. God wants us to get vulnerable with him, to listen to him and to know his calling. This post is about how important it is to enter university with a sense of humility, vulnerability, and sensitivity to the voice of God.
