It’s been a pleasure introducing you to Converge. Now I want to introduce you to the team.
I am so impressed at the faithfulness, perseverance, and wisdom of so many of our YWAM Converge staff team working in very challenging circumstances on five continents. I am honored to be part of YWAM Converge ministries. Our international network stays connected through periodic online meetings, workshops, training sessions, mentoring and team prayer gatherings. We are a YWAM ministry borne out of the Student Mobilization Centre of the University of the Nations. The Centre has 12-week (600 hour) University Ministries and Missions courses that have equipped YWAM staff now working in over 100 cities in over 40 countries.
In addition, we are certifying YWAM staff as Internship Coordinators. At last count we have 25 coordinators in 9 countries on 5 continents. We are focusing the Coordinator training on University of the Nations course leaders with responsibility for internships. These specialists will make use of the Converge program to facilitate internships for UofN students and young professionals to serve alongside organizations making a difference in their communities.
I can’t number all the students our staff have reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I do not know the number of students and staff they have trained. However, I can give you a few numbers related to what I have personally done over 35 years in Youth With A Mission. My wife and I have ministered in 47 countries where we have taught uncounted thousands. But we have invested hundreds of hours to personally train and mobilize 516 students and staff to serve on college campuses and as missionaries in every sphere of society, including the arts, business, communication, education, engineering, health care, journalism, social work, as well as church planting, preaching, and teaching the Bible.
I encourage you to visit the two links below to meet a few of our Coordinators and the staff associated with YWAM Converge.
