“I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.”
Galatians 1:11-12 NIV
“Where did that come from?”, you ask. Are you curious? Do you question authority? When someone says, “God spoke to me,” do you just accept their word? Or do you wonder if that person really did “hear” anything? You may question the character of the “hearer.” Appropriately so. If someone says they heard from God, their study of God’s word, their relationships, their commitment to obey God’s word, and their humility should align. What do you think a person should do if they say they have heard from God? Do you believe God has anything to say? To you? If you heard from God, what is the only reasonable response? Here it is: “Yes, Lord.” If you don’t say yes, he’s not your Lord.
